Creating Deals

Deals can be created manually or generated automatically from your connected integrations.

Creating a deal manually

  1. Click the + button in the sidebar or pipeline view
  2. Enter a deal name and select the company
  3. Set the initial stage, value, and close date
  4. Add relevant contacts from the company
  5. Click Create

Auto-created deals

When integrations are connected, Operate can suggest new deals based on:
  • Calendar meetings with new contacts at target companies
  • Email threads that signal buying intent
  • Slack conversations in connected deal channels
You’ll receive a notification to confirm and fill in deal details.

Best practices

  • Name deals descriptively — include the company name and what you’re selling (e.g. “Acme Corp — Enterprise Plan”)
  • Set a close date — even if it’s an estimate, it keeps your forecast realistic
  • Add all relevant contacts — deals rarely involve just one person
  • Create a Next Step immediately — every new deal should have a clear next action
